Open a Student Account
- Public computers and computer classrooms
In order to access the network from computer classrooms in the campus (including the Students' Computer center - CHAVA), you need to open an account in the following site (you will need your ID number and 4 digits personal code as they appear in the student's payment book): http://labhelp.gr.huji.ac.il
- HUJImail - Email for students
As a student of the Hebrew University's staff you are entitled to open a HUJImail e-mail account free of charge. Your e-mail address: user@mail.huji.ac.il will accompany you for the rest of your studies at the Hebrew University and will remain at your disposal after graduation.
There is no need to register for an account, it is opened automatically for all students. Account details appears in the student's payment book. For help using HUJImail see HUJImail help. In order to enter your account go to mail.huji.ac.il.

Computer Classrooms
- The Ginges Student's Computer Center (CHAVA)
The Ginges Student's Computer Center is the central computer classroom in the campus, situated in Sprinzak building. Around 180 computers are available for all campus students.

Dormitories Computing Services
- Liberman Building
The Liberman building's rooms are equipped with communication ports. Thus, provided you've got a computer, you can register, and setup a connection to the Internet.

- Public computers at Sprinzak dormitories
Public computers are available in the Sprinzak dormitories to all campus students. You will need to open an account in the following site (you will need your ID number and 4 digits personal code as they appear in the student's payment book): http://labhelp.gr.huji.ac.il

HUJImail e-mail for students
As a student/member of the Hebrew University's staff you are entitled to open a HUJImail e-mail account free of charge. Your e-mail address: user@mail.huji.ac.il will accompany you for the rest of your studies at the Hebrew University and will remain at your disposal after graduation. Web access to student's home directories
Students who use computing services in our computer classrooms, have their own home directories.
There is a web access to your home directory, which means you can access your stored files from any computer that is connected to the Internet.
The connection is secured (SSL) and you will need to login with your computer classroom account. Site address: https://myfiles.huji.ac.il// |
Novell services
Novell services are available to all academic and administrative staff in
our campus, and offer the following advantages:
- Backup - You can store your files in the server up to
2 GB free of charge (our Novell servers are backed up
on a daily basis)
- Safe file and print sharing - We strongly recommend using
Novell services instead of Microsoft's file and print sharing.
- Access to home directories from home (for academic staff
only).
- Open an account - Ask your departmental local support
or call PC support at 6584848:

basic Internet services, and especially designated for home computers.

Public Computers
- Kiosks
Kiosks are computers which enable the public to browse to University's
sites.

- Library computers
Library computers
are public computers situated in the libraries, some of which require
login (Computers in the National Library, for example, do not reqire
to login). More information may be obtained by the librarians.

Connecting Laptops
There are two ways to connect laptops in public areas in the campus:
- Public ports
There are several public ports on campus,
which students and staff of the University can use to connect their
laptops to the Internet.
