Installing McAfee VirusScan 8.7i


 A Guide for Windows XP/2003/Vista/Windows 7

warning Not compatible with Windows 8
Dell computers owners: Prior to installing McAfee, upgrade or uninstall any of the following applications: SpectorSoft, WebRoot SpySweeper or Embassy Trust Suite

Step

 

  • Download and save on your desktop McAfee VirusScan from our site.

  • Uninstall any previous anti-virus software
  • Restart your computer

  • Close all running applications.

  • Make sure you are logged-on as a user with administrator rights, and that no other users are logged on during installation.

  • Double click the installer mcnt85.exe from your desktop.

  • Click Run.

  • Click Next.

  • click Next.

Step

 

  • For Windows 7 Users:
    Click on Yes.

Step

 

  • Click Next.

 

Step

 

  • Choose Perpetual under License expiry type

  • Mark the option: I accept the terms...

  • Click OK.

 

Step

 

  • Mark the option: Typical.

  • Click Next.

 

Step

 

  • Mark Standard Protection

  • Click Next

 

Step

 

  • Click Install.

 

Step

 

  • Mark the options: Update Now

  • Unmark the option: Run On-Demand Scan.

  • Click Finish.

 

Step

 

  • You will need to wait a while till the Update procees is done.

  • Make sure McAfee was installed properly:

You should find the marked icon in your System tray (Right bottom side of your screen).
