Wireless Connection - Instructions for Staff & Students

Notes

alert Authentication account - authentication is with a HUJI connection account: username%ra.
If you havn't got an account, register at : http://rap.huji.ac.il. You can access it from the HUJI-guest wireless network.
alert Login system - The login is established via our Tango VPN system, https://tango.huji.ac.il (Tango will enable HUJI's students and staff to access HUJI's academic e-journals and databases and mail services).

Service levels:

  • Basic service: Browsing (includes access to academic journals and databases), e-mail services and SSH v2 - OTP is NOT required.
  • Extended service: Full network access, such as remote access to your office PC, "telnet" etc, will still require an OTP card (See more info regarding OTP).

Compatibility:

  • Windows: 2000/XP/2003 (64bit versions are not supported)
  • All broswers (except Internet Explorer) require Java Runtime (more details in the guides)
alert If your wireless card is managed by a specific application and not by Windows, you will need to follow the manufacture's instructions and choose the network HUJI-staff-stud.

Choose a Wireless Network
Step

  • Click the main Start of the Windows
  • Click Settings -> Control Panel (if you don't have Settings click Control Panel)
  • Go to Network and Dial-up Connections

Step

  • Make sure your card is enabled.
  • Right click Wireless Network Connection and choose: Enable

Step

 

  • Right click Wireless Network Connection
  • Choose View Available Wireless Networks

Step

 

  • If you are connected already to another HUJI network - click Disconnect and quit your browser

  • Choose the network HUJI-staff-stud and click Connect.

Step

 

  • Click Connect Anyway

Step

 

  • You will now see that HUJI-staff-stud is connected

 

Login
Step - Connect to the Network Via Tango

 

Disconnect
Step

 

  • Click the main Start of the Windows
  • Click Settings -> Control Panel (if you don't have Settings click Control Panel)
  • Go to Network and Dial-up Connections

Step

 

  • Right-Click Wireless Network Connection
  • Choose Disable
