If you are unable to disable these services, follow these steps:

    1. Launch REGEDIT and browse to 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run'.
    2. Export the McAfeeUpdaterUI key to the desktop as back up and then remove this key from the registry.
    3. Browse to the 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\|CurrentControlSet\Services' key.
    4. Export the McAfeeFramework, McShield, and McTaskManager keys to a safe location for backup and then remove these keys from the registry.
    5. Reboot the machine.
    6. Update the Record Now and DLA software from the websites provided in Solution 1 above.
    7. Reboot the machine.
    8. Restore the registry keys removed in Steps 2 and 4.
    9. Reboot the machine again so the services can install properly.
    10. If necessary, from the Services applet of the Control Panel, set the McAfeeFramework, McShield, McTaskManager, and McAfeeUpdaterUI services to "Enabled" and start the services.
