Configuring the built-in Firewall - Windows 7

[Note for Ein-Kerem campus users: Those who have joined the new (EKMD) system should not do anything - the process has been completely automated].


Step

  • Go to Start Menu
  • Click on Control Panel

Step

  • Click on System and Security

Step

  • Click on Allow a program through Windows Firewall.

Step

 

  • If you find your program on the Name list: In order to allow it to communicate through Windows Firewall just Mark the empty squres on its line, then Click on OK , and you're done.

  • If you can't find the wanted program: Click on Allow another program and continue to the next step.

Step

  • If you find your program on the list, Mark it and click on Add.

  • Otherwise, Click on Browse, find your program on its directory on the disk, and click Open
    • . This will add the program to the list, now just Mark it and click on Add.

Step

  • Click on Ok.
