HUJImail - Setting Up POP
Outlook 2003

 

Setting POP in your HUJImail account

 

  • Login to your HUJImail account through the site: http://mail.huji.ac.il
  • Click on Settings
  • Click on Forwarding and POP/IMAP
  • Mark the option: Enable POP
  • Click on the button: Save Changes

Note:
If it is the first time you setup an account in Outlook 2003, a window will appear. Click Cancel and continue with Step 1.

Step 1

 

  • Load Outlook

  • Choose the E-mail Accounts... from the Tools menu


Step 2

 

  • Mark Add a new e-mail account

  • Click Next

Step 3

 

  • Mark POP3

  • Click Next

Step 4
  • Your Name: Type your full name (as you would like it to appear on outgoing messages)

  • Email Address: Type your full email address in the format: user@mail.huji.ac.il

  • Incoming mail server: Type: pop.gmail.com

  • Outgoing Mail Server: Type smtp.gmail.com

  • User Name: Type your full e-mail address (ex: user@mail.huji.ac.il)

  • Password: Type your password

  • Click More Settings...

Step 5

  • Click the Outgoing Server tab

  • Mark the box My outgoing Server (SMTP) requires authentication

  • Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server

 


Step 6

  • Click the Advenced tab

  • Mark at box This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) under Incoming server (POP3)

  • Mark This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) under Outgoing server (SMTP)

  • Enter 465 in the Outgoing server (SMTP) box

  • Click OK

  • Click Next

 

Step 7

  • Click the Finish
