Wireless Connection - Instructions for HUJI-netX (802.1x)

Notes
alert Authentication account - authentication is with a HUJI connection account: username%ra.
If you havn't got an account, register at : http://rap.huji.ac.il. You can access it from the HUJI-guest wireless network.

 

Configure the Wireless Network
Step

  • Right-click on Network either from the desktop or from the start menu.

  • Click properties

Step


  • Click: Connect to a Network

Step

 

  • Click Set up a connection or network

Step

 

  • Click: Manually connect to a wireless networks

Step

 

  • Type in Network name (SSID): HUJI-netX

  • Choose Network Authentication: WPA2-Enterprise under Security type

  • Choose AES under Encryption type

  • Unmark the option: Start this connection automatically

  • Click Next

 

Step

 

  • Click Change connection settings


Step

 

  • Click the tab: Security

  • Unmark all other options

  • Click OK


Step


  • Click Settings...

  • Unmark the option: Cache user information...

Step

 

  • Mark Connect to these servers:

  • Type control.huji.ac.il

  • Scroll the list of Trusted Certificatation Authorities

  • Mark: DigiCert Assured ID Root

  • Click: Configure...

Step

 

  • Uncheck the option: Automatically use my Windows logon name...

  • Click OK in this window and on the following one

Step

 

  • Click on the Close button

 


Connecting

Step

  • Right-click on Network either fom the desktop or from the start menu.

  • Click properties

Step


  • Click: Connect to a Network

Step

  • Choose the network: HUJI-netX

  • Click Connect

Step

  • Click Enter/Selec additionsl log on information

Step

  • Type your username%ra

  • Type your password
    Note: an opt password is unusable

  • Click OK

 


Disconnect

Step

  • Right-click on Network either fom the desktop or from the start menu.

  • Click properties

Step


  • Click: Connect to a Network

Step

 

  • Choose the network: HUJI-netX

  • Click Disconnect
