Connecting from dormitories and from public ports

Mac OS 10.5.x


Notes:


Step

 

  • Go to Apple-->System Preferences. Double Click the Network icon.

Step

 

  • Click Network

Step

 

  • Choose: Edit Locations ... Under Location.

Step

 

  • Click Add ( + )

  • Type: pub

  • Click: Done

Step

 

  • Choose the new location: Pub

Step

 

  • Click Add ( + ) at the bottom of the network connection services list.

Step

 

  • Select VPN from the Interface list.

Step

 

  • Select PPTP under VPN type

  • Click: Create

Step


  • Server Address: Fill in the IP address according to the campus you are connecting from:
    1. Ein-Karem: 10.3.0.1
    2. Edmond J. Safra Campus: 10.1.0.1
    3. Mt. Scopus: 10.2.0.1
    4. Rehovot: 10.4.0.1

  • Account Name: Fill in your username in the following format: username%ra

  • Choose None under Encryption.

  • Click Authentication Settings...

 

Step


  • Type your password and click OK
Step

  • Click Advanced

Step

  • Mark Send all traffic over VPN connection

  • Click OK

Step


  • Click Apply and close the window.

Step

 

  • In order to connect and disconnect, click the icon that appears on the right top side of your display.
