Notes

alert Authentication account - authentication is with a HUJI connection account: username%ra.
If you haven't got an account, register at : http://rap.huji.ac.il. You can access it from the HUJI-guest wireless network.

Minimum requirements: Windows XP Service Pack 3

  • Download and run version.exe to find out your Windows version.


 

Step

  • Click Start

  • Right click Computer

  • Click Manage


Step

  • Click Continue


Step

  • Click Services and Applications --> Services


Step

  • Right click on Wired AutoConfig

  • Click on Properties


Step

  • Choose Automatic from the drop list

  • Click OK


Step

  • Click on Wired AutoConfig

  • Click on Start the service

  • Close the window

Step

  • Click the main Start of the Windows

  • Right click Network

  • Click Properties

  • If Network does not appear in the main menu, go to:
    Control Panel->Network and Internet->View Network Status->Click Local Area Connection-> Click Properties

  • Click Manage network connections

Step

  • Right click Local Area Connection

  • Click Properties

Step

  • Click Continue

Step

 

  • Go to the tab Authentication


  • Mark Enable IEEE 802.1X authentication


  • Choose Protected EAP


  • Click Settings

Step

 

  • Mark Connect to these servers:
    Type control.huji.ac.il

  • Mark DigiCert Assured ID Root CA under Trusted Root Certification Authorities

  • In some versions there are several options starting with UserTrust. Mark them as well.

  • Click Configure


Step

 

  • Unmark Automatically use my Windows logon name and password(and domain if any)

  • Click OK on all Windows

Step

 

  • Click on the balloon that appears at the bottom of the screen


Step

 

  • Type your username%ra

  • Type your password
    Note: an opt password is unusable

  • Click OK
