ADSL Connection (PPPoE) with Windows 7

 

Notes:

Step

 

  • Click on the Start-Menu

  • Click on Control Panel

Step

  • Click on View network status and tasks.

Step

 

  • Click on Set up a new connection or network .

Step

 

  • Click on Connect to the internet option.

  • Click Next

Step

 

  • Click on the Broadband (PPPoE) .


Step

 

  • In the User name field type your
    username%ra@huji
    [CS users: username%tcs@huji]
  • Type your password.

  • Mark the option: Remember this password.
  • Type a connection name, such as: ADSL-HUJI.

  • Mark the option: Allow other people to use this connection.

  • Click Connect

  • Click Skip

Step

 

  • Click Set up the connection anyway

Step


  • Back on the Network and Sharing Center, Click on Change adapter settings

Step

 

  • Right-click on the Connection icon and choose: Create a shortcut.

    (This step will create a shortcut on your desktop in order to enable you to connect through it...)



Step

 

  • Click on Yes

Step

 

  • Double click the Connection icon

Step

 

  • Click Properties

Step

 

  • Click the Security tab.

  • Choose the option: Optional encryption (connect even if no encryption)

  • Choose the Allow these protocols option

  • Mark the Unencrypted password (PAP) option.
  • Click the tab: Networking.

Step

 

  • Click Yes


Step



  • Unmark the option: File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks.
  • Click OK


Step
  • Click Connect


Ending the ADSL connection

Click Disconnect to terminate the connection.

 

  • When the ADSL connection is no longer needed you may disconnect by double clicking on the connection icon

  • Click on Disconnect
