News Bulletin #44
2-September-1993
Today's topics:
- Charging disk space in excess of 25Mb.
- New BMAIL
o Charging disk space in excess of 25mb: Starting from Friday
15/10/93 we'll charge users who use disk space in excess of 25mb
(50,000 blocks, which is the amount given for all new accounts).
Users who need more space will rent it from us in units of "Mb per
month" which will cost $0.2 each. i.e., if you need 50Mb more for a
month you'll pay $10, and if you need the same amount for a year
you'll pay $120. The amount is paid for the disk quota you are
allowed to use, and we'll not check for the actual amount used. A
day or two after the end of the month after which you did not renew
the quota we'll trim your quota back to the 25Mb and delete the
files which are over your quota.
Note: Most users are not affected by this step, and if you never
requested to raise your disk quota then you have nothing to worry
about. We'll soon send warnning messages to the users who have
quota bigger than the default.
o New BMAIL: BMAIL now supports one-touch menus, in which you operate
the menu by pressing one letter which immediately activates the
desired operation. In screens where there are two menus you
nevigate in one of them using the arrows and then select the
operation on the highlighted item by pressing one of the operation's
keys.
Note: In order to advance to the next page of a message's display
hit the space bar.
