Today's topics:
- A fast dot matrix printer.
A fast dot matrix printer has been installed at the computer room
which will be used as the central printer for the VAX. starting from
now, print jobs sent without explicit queue name will be printed on that
printer. In order to print on the user's printers in the entrance of
Taylor building you should add the qualifier /QUEUE=TAYLOR to your print
command.
The new printer is a 700 lines per minute one, and supports Hebrew
new code (ISO standard). Thus, you can print both English upper case
and lower case in addition to Hebrew characters. The maximum width of a
line is 132 characters.
In addition, printers which are connected to Mt. Scopus IBM system
(HUJIVM1) has been defined, so you can send the jobs from the VAX by
adding the qualifier /QUEUE=queue-name to your PRINT command. The
following queues are defined:
AM54 - printer in Social Sciences, room 4212
AM56 - printer in Social Sciences, room 4424
HUMANPRT - called FACIT on the IBM - located at the Humanities building,
room 2865
IBMPR - The main printer of the IBM
SOC2108 - located at the Sociology building, room 2108.
