News bulletin #160
27-Oct-2000
Today's topics:
- Communication problems with Israeli sites.
o Communication problems with Israeli sites: All the active Israeli
ISPs are connected between themselves via the Israeli Internet
Exchange (IIX) which allows internal Israeli traffic to have better
performance and not using the international lines. The universities
are also connected to the IIX.
Since last week our line to the IIX is not working properly. We are
working on this with Bezeq, but Bezeq does not cooperate much and
drags us. Hence, you might have severe problems connecting to sites
located inside Isreal. We are escalating this inside Bezeq, but no
help yet.
